Licenses are available from performing rights organizations such as ASCAP and BMI This applies to all sorts of businesses that use music, not just bars and restaurants. okay, so the restaurants don't pay a fee to play music. I'll let the departments know they shouldn't pay the bill for the fees really? Does anyone remember the legal battle in the 80s with musicians? Oh, they try not to.  But performing rights organizations have local licensing agents that go after the ones that don't. They are quite, to put it politely, persistent. Michelle C Hudon, they do pay a fee. That’s what I’m saying. You pay for the right to use someone else’s property. Reading is fundamental.the fact that there are grown ppl on here with 0 grasp of the concept of 'personal gain' is sad lol how are all the DJs that are playing other people's music, rearranging it, etc, doing it? Do you really think they are getting a license to replay the music, no way this is politics at its finest?
