So, how does a president, who should be getting up to the minute updates, either not get briefed on the fact that HIS VICE PRESIDENT and family needed to be escorted to a secure location or, knowing Pence was in the Capitol, not ask about security measures for him? I find it highly unlikely that Trump didn’t know, even if we didn’t know about phone calls, so that means Trump knew and didn’t care. Closing arguments should include this tidbit, enhanced by their knowledge of SOP for briefing the president. Is it me? Or might it be that the real benefit of this trial set up to clear such a high bar (prove that he invited an insurrection) ... Is not convicting him politically but weakening him for the VERY MANY other trials that can come after not as president but as regular criminal donald?
