Our government needs to be held accountable for the increase in mental health issues undoubtedly caused by the policies they have put in place and the lack of funding available. There are no more excuses. Mental health issues are becoming an increasing epidemic. The links between trauma/depression etc and substance abuse need to be taken seriously. What's laughable, is the lip service paid to programmes to encourage people to reduce their use of alcohol. The revenue the government must receive should be ploughed into social services and counselling. Legally a close relative can call an assessment under the mental health act and request that services fulfill this.
